The Charon project: Elica Star casts its glow over a fascinating installation

At Verona’s “Abitare il Tempo” (Live the Time) fair, where architects are given the chance to combine products and companies into one single project, the Tonucci studio has chosen Elica, creating an artistic installation entitled “Charon”.
The installation, which also involves the participation of other companies, includes four of Elica’s Star cooker hoods.
Presenting the house as a passionate nexus where human feelings, history and culture come together, the installation’s main feature is the element of earth: a massive, imposing  sequence of collapsing rock slabs bathed from above by water vapour to create a sensation of perfect bliss.
A series of interior design objects is arrayed around this atmospheric scene, illuminated by a very special light emanating from the Elica Stars, which, suspended between heaven and earth, between water and matter, links together the elements of the earth like the air itself.
