Elica was full of surprises at Milan's Salone del Mobile, with a series of highly innovative propositions that stand out for their design and technology.
In its stand at FTK, the technology section of the Salone, the company presented the new products that extend its range of exquisitely designed kitchen hoods. This year's novelties include Legend, with its elegant and original ring shape; Vogue, practically a haute couture outfit made from original materials like leather or metal mesh; Karma, a decorative wall-mounted unit with vertical aspiration that opens with a brush of your fingers to reveal the hidden technology inside; and Victoria, Gold Stream and Black Stream, the latest sophisticated models in the Evolution range.
And of course there were some leading edge accessories too, like Helix, the new "optional" for Evolution island hoods, which combines stainless steel and glass in a airy play on wires and geographical patterns, giving the hood a fresh new look.
But the real novelty presented by Elica at FTK was a range of concepts that open up new perspectives in the sector, with an increasing focus on environmental friendliness.
The company presented Pure Energy, a system being studied by Elica researchers that will reduce energy consumption by more than 50%, and Greta, the first plug-and-play hood that can can be moved from one room to another. The fire-proof fabric shade can easily be removed and is machine washable.
All told a wealth of novelties in an unusual and original stand that paid tribute to the great Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, who recently celebrated his one hundredth birthday.
