Made in Italy on show in New York

It’s not enough just to be made in Italy to be “Made in Italy”.
Made in Italy represents a complex concept where a variety of factors come into play: from idea to realisation, everything occurs in a distinct context - one that creates the perfect conditions to favour the best possible expression of high-quality Italian production.

In the world of interior decoration, after the Salone di Milano, the focus on Italy’s best products moved to New York where the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, the most important event in this sector in the United States, ran from 17th to 20th May.

One area of the fair, held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, was dedicated to Saloni WorldWide, organised by COSMIT, the fair organiser that has run Milan’s Salone del Mobile since 1961, where the very best of Made in Italy was presented to the world.

Saloni WorlWide included the best Italian companies in the Design sector, all traditional participants at the Milan Salone, and naturally Elica was present.

In the New York fair’s exhibition area Elica presented their latest top range products, including OM and Mini OM in a selection of dynamic new colours; the most recent products with the Evolution system, Platinum Ola and Wave, together with Helix, a fashionable and original accessory designed to customise their look; Space, the quietest hood in the world; and Legend which, with a dramatically imposing ring shape that seems to encompass the very substance of myth, immediately takes its place in the history of interior design.

With these products, Elica demonstrated to the American public that research, planning and manufacture can only really capture the essence of Made in Italy if they also manage to convey a certain rich, intangible factor – a factor composed of values and aesthetics that renders such objects truly symbolic of a high quality lifestyle.
