Elica joins the IDA

As a new member of the Marche delegation of the Industrial Design Association, on Saturday 15th November Elica took part for the first time in the IDA’s annual assembly in the Scavolini Foundation’s prestigious headquarters at Villa Montani. Founded in 1956, the IDA has, since 1964, run the International Golden Compass Award. Conceived by Gio Ponti in 1954 with the strong support of the Rinascente department store chain, the Golden Compass emphasises the quality of Italian design and is the first and the most important European prize in the sector.

Bringing together designers, companies, researchers, teachers, critics and journalists around a variety of design themes – projects, consumption, recycling and training courses – the IDA’s aim is to promote, and help put into action, non-profit making schemes that can provide the most suitable conditions for the design of goods and services through cultural debate, the influence of relevant institutions and the provision of services.
