FIME AT THIRTY

Founded in 1974, the Fime company started out producing electric motors for cooker hoods, with a monthly production of 1.000 pieces.

Today, Fime still produces cooker hood motors – but also motors for fridges, ovens, ventilators, and boilers, with a production of 1,400,000 motors per month. Part of the Fabriano-based Elica Group since the year 2000, in 2001 Fime bought Acem, a company that produces and sells electronic circuit boards for electromechanical and medical equipment and musical instruments. The company has established itself as a leader in its sector not only in the Italian market but also in European markets, and its results confirm the effectiveness of the production and marketing strategy adopted in recent years: a 2003 turnover of 75,500,000 euros, a production of 12,200,000 motors and 1,900,000 transformers, and a total of 435 employees. In the first part of the present year, the company has registered a 20% growth in volume with respect to last year.

Fime is naturally proud of the results the company has achieved, but that doesn’t mean they intend to simply rest on their laurels – new growth objectives regarding increased competitiveness and improved profitability are already being enthusiastically planned and worked towards.
