Elica in London for 100%Design

100% Design
Elica in London for the city’s first great design exhibition…
                                                   ...the continuing story.

Elica products all have one feature in common and that’s the distinctive and original style which makes each hood such a unique, exclusive piece of work.
The concept of continuity is the driving motor behind Elica’s philosophy – continuity through time, in terms of the ongoing commitment they provide to their customers; continuity in research and technological innovation; continuity in producing fresh, exciting new designs.

And it’s this theme of continuity that the company has decided to highlight at the London exhibition "100% DESIGN", a prestigious event taking place in Britain’s capital from the 21st to 24th September.
For the first time, on the initiative of historic English design figure Terence Conran, London is providing an opportunity to reflect on the new frontiers of design, with a Festival that will not only feature designers but also architects, researchers, producers and other creative minds, in an encounter that hopes to define the sector’s huge and varied potential.

Elica will be taking part with its perhaps most representative hood of the moment, Om. Created by chief in-house designer Lorenzo Lispi, this very special item was included in the annual ADI Design Index 2004, which features the best of Italian design.
Om’s uniqueness lies in its unusual form: a smooth, completely flat glass surface that can play host to any design you might care to choose, and which at first sight you would never imagine to be a cooker hood.

In the London exhibition space, designed by architect Riccardo Diotallevi, Om will appear in 6 different versions...
well, not only six: in the final part of the corridor that includes the Elica stand, a seventh version is also on show – or, at least a part of it is! The rest seems to vanish into the very wall, as if continuing elsewhere… continuing through space, as well as time, and echoing the strong sense of continuity that characterises the Elica company itself.

No surprise, then, that the title chosen for the London stand is “To be continued…”.
