Elica inaugurates the new Fime factory in Poland

President Casoli: “Spreading our presence throughout the world, we strengthen the Made in Italy hallmark”
One year since production start-up in Poland, the Elica Group and FIME, are celebrating another important phase in their history: the opening of the newFIME POLSKA factory inJelcz Laskowice, in the industrial zone of Wroclaw.
Several of the Fabriano group's most important Italian and European customers are well-established with their own plants in the economic basin of Eastern Europe, one of the most important in the country, and production proximity is regarded by the Group as a decisive strategic advantage in terms of customer service.
On the basis of this concept, FIME POLSKA was founded in September 2005 in the economic and cultural capital of Lower Silesia to produce electric motors, mainly for domestic appliances: in particular, fridges, boilers and cooker hoods.
Since October 2006, production has been transferred to a new, more practical plant, covering 10,000 square metres, and with a similar acreage of surrounding land. With full production running in the second half of 2007, the factory will turn out 20,000 motors per day.
At the moment FIME’s Polish factory plant employs 85 people, but this figure is expected to increase to 120 by the end of the year and with full production the total number of employees should rise to over 200.
All in all, it signifies an important moment for the industrial zone of Wroclaw, as well as for the Fabriano Group, as, through investment in Poland, it puts into action a development strategy to strengthen its Italian roots through international growth.
