Education is one of the fundamental aspects of the Elica growth strategy.
Following on from the “Elica for the young” initiative – which involved offering study grants to high school pupils, the children of employees belonging to all the companies in the group – Elica launched a new project aimed at nursery and primary school children.
The title of the competition was “Draw your dream” and those taking part included children attending nursery and primary schools in the Fabriano, Cerreto d’Esi, Serra San Quirico and Mergo areas, all of which play host to Elica factories.

The competition finished with the exhibition of the pupils’ drawings, which took place on 23rd December in Fabriano’s Sant’Antonio Fuori le Mura, an ancient monastery which is now a thriving meeting place for the town’s young people. The host of the party, which included entertainment by clowns as well as the distribution of sweets, was the Executive President of the Elica Group himself, Francesco Casoli, who personally handed out the prizes: a check for two thousand euros for each of the five participating institutions.

“This competition has been won by all the children” announced Casoli, “because to dream, is to win”.

And it’s this phrase that sums up the guiding spirit behind the initiative: the idea to create an occasion where the imagination and creativity of the very young are given free reign. Creativity is a vital factor in competition between products on the international market, and companies are in constant need of talent and new ideas – and these are traits which have to be stimulated in children from the very beginning of their scholastic lives.
“Draw your dream” was also an important occasion for reinforcing local solidarity, as the initiative drew spontaneous support from other entities in the area, who agreed, free of charge, to provide the schools with educational material to create the drawings. The promotion of his home area has always been a theme close to Francesco Casoli’s heart, and for several years he has been the chief organiser of a marketing project for the development of the Fabriano region.

“Partnerships of this sort, involving educational projects” emphasised Casoli, “ testify to the importance that the world of production, at all levels, gives to education; and confirm into the bargain that when an idea is good, it is also contagious.”
