Not just a domestic appliance: this is the Elica philosophy, the firm belief that the cooker hood embodies value and status that go far beyond its simple function. Design and technology come together to make it a truly representative object in terms of depicting the evolution of taste in the domestic environment.
And it’s a philosophy that was strongly in evidence at the Salon Du Meuble, which took place in Paris from the 9th to 25th January.
In partnership with the magazine Interni, the show presented itself to the public and sector professionals under a new guise, purposely adopted in order to reflect the culture of domestic life and its multifarious implications in as exhaustive and detailed a manner as possible.
The exhibition made a point of inviting all the most important players in the interior design sector, producers and professionals who are capable of acknowledging and expressing the structures and contaminations which define the new horizons of living.
Elica had two main aims at the Paris event: to consolidate its position in the French market, and to establish itself as a brand connected not only to domestic appliances and the kitchen, but to the world of interior design in general.
This significant new direction was reflected in the innovative models that the Fabriano company exhibited at their stand in the Futur Interieur pavilion: Om, Mini Om, Star, Wave, Isolabella, Cubelight, Grace, Solaris, Stone Gallery, and Brasil.
The Futur Interieur pavilion itself, created under the artistic direction of Christophe Pillet, was conceived of as a huge showcase for contemporary creativity, and unlike other areas was also open to the public. As well as hosting big brand names from the interior design world, it contained Dream house – four installations inspired by the concept of four ideal houses and created by internationally famous design names:
- Maison éclectique, by Carlo Colombo
- Nouvelle génération, by Simone Micheli
- Nostalge Moderne, by Christophe Pillet
- Luxe abordable, bourgoisie bohème, by Paola Navone.
These are places destined for a public that is willing to invest in the art of living – the same public that Elica creates and builds for, with original and striking products that use their own distinctive personalities to define the space around them.
