Inhabit the air: the landesignhotel.

IDEA: live in sky and land.

Two principles guided our work: the desire not to ruin the surface of a wonderful landscape and the wish to erect a monument (in the sense of monumentality, not monumentalism); a sign capable of transforming a place so “perfect and achieved” into a poetic phrase. What could be more challenging than the attempt to make the sky, the air itself, habitable? What really interested us was to preserve the already-existing balance and harmony, intensely palpable as it is, between the artificial and the natural, between mind and man, between order and chaos. Nothing should be touched, but at the same time this area could be transformed into the symbolic epicentre of an entire territory.

Live in the landscape

Transforming the identity of the Palazzo and one part of the park into a luxury landesignhotel does not in our opinion mean the “urbanisation” of a whole area of hill territory. It requires a a sense of planning and design with a touch of alchemy about it, one that can encompass both the recovery and enhancement of the memory of the PALAZZO ruin but which at the same time uses appropriate environments to form the functional heart (Elica House).
The suspended ring and architecture in the air.
The huge ring suspended above the hills which close in around the PALAZZO ruins appears like a white flying carpet, the “mirador” of the entire valley that faces towards Fabriano. A huge out-of-scale installation designed using perhaps that most perfect of geometric signs, the circle, where you can walk and, resting for a moment at suitable seated viewpoints, observe and meditate while admiring the surrounding countryside.
Some habitable volumes hang from the ring and, suspended over the landscape, give life to the long walk in the sky. Special rooms, true flying houses, feature windows that open out onto the countryside like a camera lens towards the territory's distinctive views.

Elica House and architecture in the land

The PALAZZO's venerable ruins become a monument to memory and beneath them a dream world is revealed, a world dedicated to relaxation, service facilities and welcoming.
This area, known as Elica House, will act as the logistic epicentre of the whole “landesignhotel”, where guests will be greeted and whose more “collective” style of space will offer exclusive services devoted to relaxation and pleasure.
The conquerable beauty of landscape, the power of man, the lightness of a sign.
A great temporary work of landart and at the same, time a symbol for an entire territory; a habitat in suspension which welcomes guests and nomadic dream explorers, lovers of beauty, design and physical and mental well-being; an untouched and untouchable landscape that requires only to be discreetly lived in, observed, and listened to…
