The “Ermanno Casoli” International Art Prize

The Casoli Prize was created in 1997 in memory of Elica’s founder Ermanno Casoli.
Eclectic and dynamic, curious and passionate about modern methods of artistic expression, Ermanno Casoli developed his interest into a profound knowledge of contemporary art, and this inheritance has been carried forward by his family to produce one of the most established and unique experiences of contemporary art in the Marche region.
Today the Casoli Prize represents one of the most significant occasions available to observe and analyse modern figurative art in all its rich variety.
Every year, beginning in July, in the atmospheric environment of the historic
Santa Lucia complex of buildings in the heart of
Serra San Quirico, a town in Italy’s Ancona province, a select group of artists from all over the world is invited to interpret the theme proposed by the organising committee which includes, alongside
Gianna and Francesco Casoli, representatives from the Serra San Quirico Town Council and the curator of the event, Professor Valerio Dehò.
The three winners of each edition, chosen by a qualified jury, are rewarded with the acquisition of the presented work, which is then donated to the town council of Serra San Quirico to become part of the patrimony of the Permanent Collection of Contemporary Art which the local authority is working to establish.
